About LANACare

LANACare was created by a Danish nurse Jeannette Almstrøm in 1990 in Denmark. Being a mother of 3 children herself Jeannette Almstrøm developed a range of products for mothers and babies in organic pure merino wool. As a nurse and having a professional background in textile & design was a perfect combination of skills. Each item is designed to promote the health & well-being of the nursing mother and baby, to provide the soothing comfort & breathable warmth that only pure wool can give.
Today all LANACare activity is managed by Jeannette Almstrøm herself, who is passionate about finding new sustainable materials for use in new products – promoting not only the health of an individual, but that of our Mother Earth.Over the years LANACare production and distribution quantities have developed very much. Today it is a very well-known brand, our products being sold in 28 countries around the world.

Philosophy and mission

To dress our children and the breast-feeding mother in a pure, mulesing-free, extremely soft and comfortable merino wool, that brings health and comfort for mother and baby.

Social Responsibility

LANACare responsibility is to follow sustainability – woolen products can be used for many coming years. Wool is a renewable recourse – sheep grow wool coat every year, that need to be cut off due to health reasons.

Careful sorting and selection is made in choosing the wool used for LANACare products. Only wool that meets Europe’s highest ecological standards is used. It is tested to prove that it contains no harmful substances. No fertilizer or pesticides have been used on the fields where the sheep graze, nor have any harsh chemicals been used to wash the wool. No mulesing have been used on the sheep. Mulesing is a much criticized way of vaccination for an insect only living in Australia. The wool is as pure on the sheep as when it comes as clothing on your baby. Only the most incredibly soft & finest of this organic merino wool is selected to use in LANACare products.
